Sasane Nepal Video

Nestled in the Himalayas, Kathmandu stands as the capital of Nepal. Often described as the “Land of Gods”, Kathmandu is known for the vast number of historical buildings, temples, and architecture. The culture of Kathmandu embraces Nepalese traditions and houses immense historical art pieces, including ancient weapons, antiques, and trophies dating back to the 18th century. As Kathmandu has expanded their tourist culture, other less desirable effects have come along with it.

Unfortunately, for women and girls in Nepal, human trafficking and exploitation become more ever dangerous realities. Women are not only abused, but they also become exploited and neglected through the Nepal legal system. Hence, SASANE was established in 2008 to counteract these known realities for many women and girls in Nepal. Based in Kathmandu, SASANE was founded by former female victims. As survivors, they have banded together to create a holistic approach towards addressing these conditions and educating women in paralegal training to combat the exploitation of women. SASANE’s goal is to help women become empowered and independent through media and paralegal training. By empowering women with these skills, these women work to create a voice for victims and create more equality for women under the eye of the Nepal government. More information on the SASANE Project can be found on their site and donations can be made at iJourneyGreen’s Asia donation page.
