Mariposa DR Foundation
Location: Dominican Republic
Synopsis: The Mariposa DR Foundation is a community-run organization that implements sustainable, creative solutions to end extreme poverty across the Dominican Republic. By empowering and educating young women and girls to create community based solutions to address problems of limited education, environmental degradation, and underdevelopment within their own communities, this project helps girls realize their full potential. This project advocates that girls are not simply a part of the problem; they are the solution to the various issues the Dominican Republic faces.

Reef Check DR
Location: Dominican Republic
Synopsis: Reef Check is a global not-for-profit organization that monitors the health of coral reefs, conserving and restoring coral reefs in over 95 countries. Recently, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources granted the co-management right of the La Caleta Submarine Park, making it our main and immediate priority.
